Stump grinding causes a relatively small amount of ground disturbance around the stump whilst still removing a large amount of the main stump. Digging stumps out can cause a fair amount of ground disturbance however it is effect in being able to remove some of the main root system as well as the complete stump.

The use of brushwood killers is a low cost, low ground disturbance way of killing a stump. Although is doesn’t remove the stump it does stop it from re-sprouting.
